Book Review: The Lost Girls by Anne Ursu

The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu
Publisher: Walden Pond Press
Ages: 8-12

Twins. Crows. Theft. Library. Antiques.

The premise is super intriguing and I always do enjoy books that have a subtle magical realism. Add in twins and an "awesome" library club and I am so in!

This book follows twins, Iris and Lark, as they are forced to start separating their activities and find their own thing. The twins are quite different and they rely so entirely on each other that this is essentially torture.

Through the process they are both dealing with separate emotional struggles which we see more often through the lens of Iris and an unknown narrator. We meet many different characters along the way and there is quite a lot of mystery around a local antique store owner.

I think this is one that kids are certainly going to enjoy as the twins explore their world alone and search for their own sense of belonging.

You won't be disappointed to add this to your library shelves.
