Anime Club: Origami Shurikens

One thing we really love about Anime Club is having the occasional "extra" activity. It really gives us a chance to sit and chat while doing something for fun. Or eating something yummy (that's why Ramen at every meeting is so crucial).

For February our extra activity is going to be making Origami Shurikens.

These are super easy to make and look awesome!

Shiny, Printed or Plain: Origami Shurikens are pretty cool

Supplies:
Origami Paper
Scissors

[Pretty cheap too!]

Step 1:
You need one piece of origami paper.

Step 2:
Fold it in half (for a cutting guide).

Step 3:
Open it up and cut it along the fold.

Now you have 2 equal pieces.

Step 4:
Fold both pieces in half length-wise.

Step 5:
Now fold those two in half.

Step 6:
Unfold them.

You should have a lovely crease down the middle now. Yay!
Step 7:
Grab the top half of one and fold it out along the center seam.

Step 8:
Now fold the top of the other one the opposite direction.

Step 9:
Now fold the bottoms out in the opposite directions of the top halves.

They should look like something like this. And I really wish I could think of the best way to describe it.

Step 10:
Flip them over so the seam in the middle is facing away from you.

Step 11:
You should have essentially little square shapes at both ends of each piece. And we are going to grab one point and fold it in so we turn them into triangles.

Step 12:
Do this to both ends.

Step 13:
Do the same thing to the other piece.

Step 14:
Next up is to take those little triangles we just made and fold them into the center. We are looking to turn both pieces into diamond-shapes.

You want them both to look like this.

Step 15:

Now we are going to have them hug (for lack of a better description). Open them up and lay them together.

The open seams will be on the outside and the star points should make it look like your two pieces are hugging.
Step 16:
Now we just need to fold the points into that open seam. Tuck them in and you are done.

After awhile you will be able to make such cool ones that you would make even Sarada Uchiha proud.

And on another note, two-tone ones look AMAZING!
