I received an eARC from Netgalley & Roaring Book Press in exchange for my honest review.

What on Earth is this book? Seriously?! What is it?!

The text was confusing. The storyline made no sense. There are no words I can really say so as not to spoil this for others. I genuinely cannot tell if this was intentionally bad, but this was a HUGE miss for Hale. I had high expectations & this fell FAR short (like miles far).

Some memorable lines from this treasure:

"'My whole body yearns for the spotlight like parched earth craves rain. You think I got a shot?' Hildy rolled her eyes." Well, you aren't the only one rolling your eyes..."

"That was as far as she got before the story snatched her. Slurped her in, hungrily, eagerly. A few moments of disorientation, tumbling through the digestive tract of whatever power pulled her into stories …"

"One of his stabby stabs made contact."

"She noticed the pleasant bubbling of gas in her intestines, which she had never thought to appreciate before her fantasy self had been gas-free."
