I received an eARC courtesy of IDW Publishing/Top Shelf Productions, NetGalley & Edelweiss in exchange for my honest review.

An odd start eventually gave way to a hilarious look at friendships and relationships.

I very nearly gave up on this book. Not that it was bad, I simply was not into the story (or what appeared to be a lack of story). The choppy, episodic beginnings seemed utterly random, but the characters still had so much charm. And those illustrations-spectacular!

Ultimately, I am very glad that I kept going with this quirky book because it was actually quite refreshing to read about Nathalie and Marie's friendship. It was also a breathe of fresh air to read about a GLBT character that isn't simply living a nightmare scenario of unacceptance. So nice to see some good examples of parents who love the children. Yes, I know that teens need books that show those struggles, but it is nice to see them in books just being teens and dealing with issues just as any other teen would (ugh! parents are so embarrassing).
