SLP 2021: Duct Tape Wallet

I'm beginning to treat this summer as the summer of animal print. Much like my earlier post on Origami, this is a craft that we are all pretty familiar with and switching to animal print is an easy way to tie it in to our summer theme.

With that in mind, let's make some easy duct tape wallets.

Supplies

Duct Tape (for our purposes let's go with animal print)

Small Duct Tape (I actually just used black electrical tape because it was handy)

Scissors

Velcro Dots

Ruler (optional)

Step 1

Cut out 6 pieces of duct tape around 1' long. It doesn't have to be too precise because we will trip it up in step 4.

Step 2

Lay 3 side by side with a small piece overlapping to connect them (about 1/4").

Step 3

Lay the other 3 on top of the 1st three (sticky sides together). Now you have a sheet of duct tape.

Step 4

Now trip up the edges.

Step 5

If you want to have a shaped flap (rounded, tapered, triangle) now is the time to shape up one of your short edges. I just left mine square.

Step 6

Fold into slightly less than thirds-the top flap is definitely the smallest portion.

Step 7

Seal up the side with your small tape. I also trimmed out the edges of the flap to give it a cleaner look.

Step 8

Add your Velcro dot so your flap will close.

And done!
