Writing Club is one of those library programs that lends itself well to the virtual world. That shared experience does not easily diminish just because you are not in person. And with that in mind, I've been trying to come up with ways to tie in Writing Club with our summer theme.
My first idea: Fan-Fiction!
What does that have to with animals?
Step 1: Teens pick those stories they love from the world of the big screen or small, from video games, from books, etc, etc.
Step 2: Now they write fan-fiction using that as the basis, but instead of people or whatever . . . animals.
Just think about Hunger Games set in a Zoo. Or Animal Crossing with . . . oh wait . . .
This could be one of the most random Writing Clubs ever and the possibilities are endless.
